Move Over,Man Cave!

Nowhere can man find a quieter or more untroubled retreat than in his own soul.

It’s high time we women get our due. Move over Man Cave! Hello She Shed!

Forget about all the articles and pictures and shows that abound about the man caves. It’s time to carve out a little she space. I got to thinking of this today as I cleaned out a storage unit and prepared to bring items to the store for the huge Market next weekend. I was all alone at the storage unit and looking through my finds and my boxes full of…well, dreams, when I got the idea that a shed that could house some of these things that I could work on for the store would be a great idea. You know how your mind thinks a million things when going to places and sorting through things you haven’t seen in awhile?

I thought: I could purchase a shed, from Lowes or even used on Craigslist and set it up to house the furniture and items I wanted to bring to LTD 7, but were not quite ready. Maybe they need a vintage frame, a coat of paint, a planter or a vase. If I had the space to disappear and work on some of these things, uninterrupted, it would literally be a dream come true.

I looked on the internet when I got home and found article after article on She-Sheds.

Picture this:

A shed, with windows and curtains and heating and a windup box AC unit. Maybe even a small pot belly stove or an electric fireplace. Add to that your favorite chair and/or couch and a desk or a sewing table or a clip on lamp over a drafting table or jewlrey making bench. Or what about a room for your easel, or your collections. How about an office for your etsy or EBay business?

Can you see the steam rising from your favorite warm beverage, as you close the door on the outside world for a little down time, me time, craft time, work time: what would you do with a free hour time?

What would be in your particular she shed? Would it house your favorite books? A CD collection, a fountain with trinkling water?

Would you know exactly what kind of warm blanket you would choose to cover you on chilly evenings? Would you have your favorite water pitcher displayed or would you finally use it? Would you have a couch, a chair, a desk, a bed or all of the above? What could you get done in there away from the hustle and bustle of the everyday world?

I’m thinking she sheds are going to be really fashionable. Just think of the myriad of ways it could become your sanctuary. Perhaps you could invite a friend to help you decorate it. Perhaps you will invite that same friend to visit for sweet tea and a chat. Perhaps you will both visit LTD 7 to see what you can find to decorate your new and special go to place.

LTD 7 has much of what you might like in your special hideaway. From furnishings to vintage inspired accents and everything g in between, the sky is the limit. Come see us next weekend at the huge Spring Market or before and begin the dream of having your own she-she’d. Even if you buy a piece at a time, or simply browse, I can practically guarantee you will leave with a plethora of ideas for making your space your very own.

I just might get started on designing my own She Shed.

Every girl deserves to dream, right?

Every girl deserves her own special place where she can do just that. How will you begin to dream of your own special she shed? Let the ideas flow.

I will see all of you at the Market, next Saturday. I can’t wait!
