Honestly, people, I have had a week of milestones that have left me with such a full heart and the opportunity to be a blubbering mess. But instead, I am approaching this next chapter with confidence and holding myself together!
LTD 7 celebrated its two year anniversary last week! WOW. Seeing my dream alive and well for two whole years and growing stronger by the day, thanks to your patronage and loyalty, has left me with such monumental feelings of gratitude for every day, every vendor and every single one of you who have participated in my dream. I am completely filled with such humble thanks for the path LTD 7 is on. We are growing daily and enjoy such a great presence in downtown Staunton. I love the path that LTD 7 is on and I look forward to the years to come as we continue to dream and meet the needs and expectations of our great customers.
If that wasn’t enough, Erika, our only child, graduated high school yesterday. I did throw one single tissue in my purse for “safe measure” just in case that lump in my throat turned to tears down my face. Duane and I are over the moon proud of our daughter, Erika, and we can’t wait to see where life takes her.
This week brings another journey to fruition. LTD 7 is opening a second location! This new store will fit in nicely with our downtown store, and our strong Internet presence. We have closed our Antique Mall location in order to concentrate on these two locations. It is the perfect “next step” as LTD 7 grows and flourishes. The store is located at 54 Rowe Road, beside the ever popular Virginia Made Shop…carrying the best Virginia peanuts around!
Many of you may have heard that we are opening, but for those of you who have not, we are shooting for a “soft open” on June 10th…that’s this week…YIKES!
The formal opening of the store will still be a few weeks away. I like to practice for a few weeks with the staff and work out any kinks in the operation of the store before we officially open with a ribbon cutting and fanfare. We will announce the date soon.
A soft open, like dress rehearsals and preseason games for sports teams allows everyone to get over their nerves. Practice makes perfect. Soft opens are also great avenues for the new business you might have in mind. It allows you to get your feet wet, test the waters and formulate an initial set of goals and plans in the real work world. It helps you iron out details, tweak your concepts, train, and reward your early supporters, much like our Loyalty Program does at our current location.
The main reason I do a soft opening is that with the opening of the doors, I am just getting started. Case in point: LTD 7 is a far cry from what it was on Opening Day, two years ago. Unlike a formal game, wedding or play on Broadway, where one views a finished product, a store that opens its doors is just beginning. Having a soft open allows us a bit of time to make sure everything is as it should be.
Please join us as we extend our reach in this great city and open our doors next week. We would love to share this stage of our dream with you.
Living the Dream,
