Retail Therapy

summer 6

It’s here: the first day of summer. The children and grandchildren are out of school and ensconced in various activities. Pools are crowded and the beach is perhaps a vacation away for the family. The weather has turned (really) warm and everyone is looking for things to do.

If you and your clan are going to be in town most days, why not think about the areas of our great city that you have not visited in awhile. The Woodrow Wilson birthplace, various eateries downtown, the movie theatre are all things that can be visited in an afternoon of strolling. Perhaps take in a play, or visit the Wharf and train station. Stroll the side streets off of Main in downtown Staunton, where you can find us and so many interesting vendors off the beaten path. There is so much one can do to make the lazy, hazy days of summer more interesting.

If you haven’t been to our new second location of LTD 7, why not try visiting that section of town. Perhaps visit the Virginia Made Shop and Rowe’s Restaurant. Look for LTD-7.2 right next door to the Virginia Made Shop. We welcome kids and visiting friends and relatives. Our stores are tactile and stimulating and offer a wealth of ideas for summer projects for the young and old.

Maybe you can buy a container for collecting vacation sea shells; or make a new (old) headboard for the growing children in your clan.

summer 4

Maybe you can interest the older kids in a refinishing project or making a vintage wind chime.

If you do go out of town, make is a point to support local artisans and shop owners. Enjoy some retail therapy while you are away. Make time for YOU!

Bring back ideas and mementos from you travels, even around town. All of us at LTD 7 wish you a wonderful summer and we hope you will bring your visitors, children and grandchildren by to say “Hi.”

The point is only this: make memories. Enjoy summer. Life can change on a dime and the only time for living is now. All we are really guaranteed is today. Make it really, really special.

I look forward to seeing you and yours…soon.

Living the Dream,

Lynne
