There is an old country tradition that whenever one travels that they always carry a plant with them, the purpose being to always stay rooted to your home. I am sure you have heard the saying, “Bloom where you are planted,” as well. Always stay rooted and bloom where you are planted are good maxims to follow, if you think about it. Being a small business owner, I am always hoping to meet more and more local folk at Ltd 7 and I am just tickled pink when new travelers visit our stores as well. We are meeting more and more out-of-towners at our Rowe’s location and on our Facebook sales weekly. It is so much fun to hear where everyone is from and to get to know new people.
SMALL BUSINESS SATURDAY NOVEMBER 28, 2015
There is a special day coming up soon after the Thanksgiving holiday for people who own local small businesses, like me. It is Small Business Saturday. This year it falls on Saturday, November 28th.
Small Business Saturday is LTD 7s “Black Friday” and we are hoping with our fingers and toes crossed that it is going to be a very big day full of shoppers from near and far. We have been planning the day with our special discounts, special guest appearance and refreshments for everyone who visits us on Small Business Saturday. Please plan to come see us!
This particular day for local businesses is a day we look forward to all year. We take a back seat to the Thanksgiving Day shopping madness and the crazed frenzy of Black Friday, because, quite frankly, we are small businesses because we value our families and our time with them and we do not open after our supper on Thanksgiving. We do not compete with the businesses that stay open 48 to 72 hours without closing to entice you to shop their sales. We do not even try to beg and plead via emails and newspaper glossy sales pages to get you to come in on Black Friday (although we are open and would LOVE to see you) because we know the type of deals you are getting on Black Friday are simply not our niche.
Ltd 7 is a smaller and more specialized local business. Instead the small businesses like the ones downtown and around our town wait patiently for your attention and your business. We feel confident that you will find unusual and unique items at our two LTD 7 locations and we want to show them to you in an unhurried and pleasant pace. We want your business, but we want your friendship and loyalty as well.
SHOW YOUR LOVE ON SMALL BUSINESS SATURDAY
Small Business Saturday, sponsored by American Express, allows you to show your love to those of us working night and day to bring you the goods and hometown services you have come to expect.
We may charge a little more than the big box companies, who shall remain nameless, but that is because our goods and services are made and created and offered for sale by local craftsman, or made in the USA and not some far away country. We don’t want to purchase thousands of the same products because that would defeat the special uniqueness and quality of the products you have come to expect from us.
JOIN US NOV 28th SMALL BUSINESS SATURDAY
We want you to shop locally because you are supporting us, and our wonderful city. Shopping locally allows us to create more hometown jobs for you, your friends and your family members. It keeps the local economy growing and healthy. Please consider keeping more of your money local this year.
Are you going to #ShopSmall?
HAPPY THANKSGIVING, EVERYONE!
Before I close I want to offer a huge virtual hug to each of you for supporting LTD 7, both downtown and at our new location at Rowe’s. We are thankful for each and every one of you, not only as customers, but as friends! We sincerely hope you have a wonderful Thanksgiving, full of family, friends and good food. We will be closed on Thanksgiving to celebrate all of our blessings and spend time with our families, but we will reopen on Friday. Do stop in if you can and plan to visit one or both locations of LTD7 on Small Business Saturday. We can’t wait to see you!
Living the Dream and Full of Thanks for Each One of You,
